Teen Therapy
The teen years can be complicated. Whether they're feeling overwhelmed, withdrawn, anxious, angry, or simply unsure of how to handle everything on their plate, therapy can provide support, practical tools, and a place to be heard without judgment.
Helping Teens Navigate Life's Challenges
The teenage years are a time of significant growth, change, and self-discovery. Alongside these changes can come stress, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, relationship challenges, academic pressures, family conflict, questions about identity, and struggles with self-esteem. While some ups and downs are a normal part of adolescence, there are times when teens can benefit from additional support.
Therapy provides a space where teens can talk openly about what they're experiencing without fear of judgment. Together, we work to better understand the thoughts, emotions, and situations contributing to their struggles while building practical skills to manage challenges more effectively. My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to each teen's unique needs, helping them develop confidence, resilience, healthy coping strategies, and a stronger understanding of themselves.
While teens need a space that feels like their own, parents and caregivers remain an important part of the process. Depending on the teen's age, goals, and preferences, therapy may include parent consultations and practical strategies to help strengthen communication, support emotional wellbeing, and create positive changes both at home and beyond. Stephanie Sliwa Therapy provides teen therapy for youth and families in Langton, Simcoe, and throughout Norfolk County, with virtual services available across Ontario.
