Reunification Therapy
Rebuilding parent-child and sibling relationships after separation, conflict, or estrangement.Sometimes relationships break down after divorce, family conflict, long periods without contact, or other difficult life circumstances. Rebuilding those relationships takes time, patience, and a thoughtful process that considers the needs and well-being of everyone involved.
Rebuilding Relationships & Reintegration
Reunification therapy is a structured process that helps rebuild relationships between parents and children, or between siblings, after separation, conflict, or periods of estrangement. Every family's story is different, which means there isn't one path that works for everyone. The process is guided by the unique needs, history, and readiness of the people involved, with the emotional well-being of children remaining the priority throughout.
Working Together
Reunification therapy isn't about deciding who is right or wrong, assigning blame, or forcing relationships before people are ready. It's about creating opportunities to rebuild trust, improve communication, and move toward healthier family relationships at a pace that is appropriate for everyone involved. Depending on your family's circumstances, the process may include individual meetings, parent sessions, sibling sessions, and joint reunification sessions.
Reunification therapy may be helpful if...
A parent and child have become estranged.
Siblings have experienced a significant breakdown in their relationship.
Contact has been interrupted following separation or divorce.
Your family would like support rebuilding relationships in a safe and structured way.
Reunification therapy has been recommended by a lawyer, the court, or another professional.
Your family would like to begin the process voluntarily.
A Thoughtful Approach
Every reunification process moves at its own pace. Children cannot be rushed into rebuilding relationships, and meaningful progress happens when everyone feels heard, respected, and emotionally safe. My role is to guide that process thoughtfully while keeping the focus on long-term relationship repair rather than short-term outcomes.
